"No one can do this alone," advised author and literary journalist Gail Sheehy at Monday evening's reading of her latest book, Passages in Caregiving. Sheehy addressed a full house, discussing her personal experiences caring for her husband, who had cancer for seventeen years.
Audience members took copious notes as she discussed what she learned navigating the labyrinth of caregiving. Sharing personal ancedotes highlighting the different stages — or "turnings" as she identifies them — Ms. Sheehy brought light to what is commonly considered the darkest experience one may go through with a loved one. There was tremendous appreciation to Ms. Sheehy for sharing her journey through the chaos of this phase of life.
Join us again for Ladies Night at BookHampton in Southampton next Monday evening July 25, when local restauranteur Toni Ross and food blogger Danyelle Freeman will be “Dishing About Dining Out.”
